Sauna Youth, “False Jesii, pt. ii” b/w “Oh Joel” (Static Shock) Everyone fell in love with London’s Sauna Youth as soon as they heard that weird, 10-minute, “Town Called Distraction” chatter at the end of the summer. And even though the rest of the record was a really cool punk mess, its best parts were those airy aah-ahhs and la-las hanging out behind all that other noise — and maybe those accents getting turned into words and being pushed up to the front is why the Sauna’s new single is even a bigger deal than their preceding EP, but all we’re saying for now is Valentine’s is creeping towards us and that box of chocolates is going to need to go somewhere.
